Thousands of cricket fans had gathered at the Adelaide Oval to take a selfie with the Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni but only a handful were successful. However, there is one Australian fan that faceds no such hurdles. Leanne Murray was just 14 years old when she saw an Indian Cricket match in 2007 for the first time.

She was so fascinated that she switched her loyalty and became an Indian cricket fan and a Dhoni fan in particular. “What I liked most about him is that he is a very good person, very calm,” says Murray.

Mohammed Bashir another loyal fan of the Indian team speaks about Dhoni’s generosity. “He gives me tickets whenever India plays here says, Mohammed Bashir, from Pakistan.

In many ways, Bashir’s story is similar to Murray’s. However, like Murray, Bashir too has become a “convert” says, Vaikundarajan. The Indian team has topped Pool B but from the very start of the World Cup, Murray and Bashir have been confident of Dhoni defending his crown.

According to Vaikundarajan, the Indian Cricket team has attracted many fans all over the world. Mohammed Bashir and Leanne Murray now follow the schedule of the Indian cricket team instead of their own national teams.
