Apple has after a long hiatus upgraded their range of iPods such as iPod Nano, Shuffle and Touch. They have introduced substantial amounts of upgrades and a whole range of colours to pick and choose from says Vaikundarajan.

Apple’s products are always held in high regard and yet with the advent of the newer, better and bigger iPhones, somewhere Apple Inc. was left behind on updating their iPod devices says Vaikundarajan.

One cannot blame Apple Inc. for this delayed roll out of upgraded features to the iPod since a standalone music player is fast losing importance owing to the rife competition in mobiles.

However, Apple Inc. realized the delay and have duly filled the gap by introducing new colours in the iPod Nano and Shuffle, says Vaikundarajan.

The iPod Nano and Shuffle will now be available in hot pink, dark blue and gold in addition to the existing black, silver and red.

However, there seem to be no changes in the structure or functioning in either of the aforementioned products, says Vaikundarajan.

On the other hand, the iPod Touch has received an internal and external upgrade and is now available with a 64-bit chip for faster performance and gaming.

In addition to the amped up chip, Apple Inc. has also included a motion co-processor which can track physical activity and an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, says Vaikundarajan.

Thus, these updates bring the iPod Touch more in line with the iPhone 6. It is sure to captivate those consumers that still look at a good performing player device rather than a phone.

The new and updated iPod Touch is priced starting at $199 for a 16GB model and $399 for 128GB model, says Vaikundarajan.
