Early Release of Puli’s Song Promo Is An Excellent Marketing Strategy, Says Vaikundarajan


A few weeks ago, Puli’s trailer created waves across the town. With 7 lakh views in a short period of time, the trailer was well-received by the viewers and went viral.

On 14th September, Sony Music launched the promo song from the movie on its YouTube channel. The song is written and sung by the versatile Devi Sri Prasad who is also seen dancing to the tunes in the 2.25 minute video.

The makers of Puli had scheduled the launch of trailer on 17th September as a treat for Kollywood audience on occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi. “The song promo comes as a surprise and will surely attract attention of Vijay fans,” says Vaikundarajan.

Starring alongside Vijay in Puli are Sridevi and Shruti Hasan. Written and directed by Chimbu Deven, Puli is a fantasy adventure film. According to sources, the makers plan on releasing the movie on 1st October.

Vaikundarajan observes, “This is a strategic movie as it allows the movie to run over a four-day Gandhi Jayanti weekend.” He adds that the opening weekend will be crucial for the film’s success at box office. The production cost for movie is claimed to be over 100 crores.

Meanwhile, Vijay fans have applauded the song teaser and started trends with multiple hashtags across various social media channels. The song’s early success is good news to Puli’s star cast.

Now that the stage is set, it remains to be seen how the movie does at box office, concludes Vaikundarajan.
